For many rural women, access to formal banking services remains a challenge. RAG’s VSLA approach provides an alternative that promotes savings culture, peer support, and entrepreneurship. In 2024, more than 30 new associations were established, with members saving regularly and using pooled funds to start microenterprises.
Beyond finances, these groups have become safe spaces for women to discuss leadership, health, and rights issues. The confidence gained through the VSLA model is helping women take active roles in decision-making within their households and communities.
